THE HIGHEST STANDARDS.  PERIOD.
ARB would like to thank the numerous individuals and breeders for their feedback that led to the creation of the Breeder Challange Award.  We are proud to present the "Best of Breeders" seal as an achievement for breeders that go above and beyond to ensure that they are the best of the best.
What it Takes

Earning the seal is a challenge that is available and open to ALL annual members FREE of charge.  However, only those exclusive breeders that meet or surpass ALL criteria will be awarded the title and seal that comes with being the best of breeders.  It takes serious dedication to genetic and health testing, comittment to preserving and improving lineages, and an overall passion for breeding.
All requirements are in ADDITION TO regular membership requirements and Code of Ethics

ARB realizes that many aspects of our criteria are breed dependent, as they should be, and has led to the creation of our breed specific requirements.  Please see the links to the left for our extensive details on what is required of each breed.

HEALTH TESTING
Required tests are dependent upon breed, please see our page on required testing by breed.  ALL adults used as part of a breeding program, including third party studs, must be currently cleared.  Clearance must be kept current in order to maintain status.  ALL tests listed for any breed must be completed and submitted.

LINEAGE RECORDS
ALL adult dogs or puppy that is or will be part of a breeding program must be registered.  AKC is the preferred registry, however we understand that in the case of unrecognized breeds or certain mixes this may not be possible, in light of that fact other registries are permitted.  Proof of registration must be submitted to ARB for verification.  Registration is integral to creating a historical record of a breed to identify problems, improvements, or in devoloping new breeds.

WRITTEN VET RECOMMENDATION
A Brief letter should be dated and include length of time as veterinarian and general charachter reference.  Submitted letter must be dated within 6 months.

MINIMUM OF 3 REFERENCE LETTERS
Letters should be from past clients with phone numbers for verification.

NO UNRESOLVED DISPUTES
